Sunbrella Outdoor Fabric Questions and Answers (FAQs)
Sunbrella has developed a reputation as a manufacturer of the very best fabrics for outdoor patio furniture, helping people across the globe get the outdoor oasis of their dreams. However, when it comes to outdoor patio furniture, it’s important to get as much information as possible before making an investment. You hope to have the same patio furniture for years to come, so taking the time to fully understand what you are buying can pay dividends down the road. Westend Cushions and Umbrellas uses Sunbrella fabric for a large amount of our outdoor patio furniture, and we answer some frequently asked questions. To learn more, contact us today by calling (951) 972-8330.
1. Is Sunbrella Fabric Washable?
One of the great things about Sunbrella fabric is it is very easy to wash, regardless of the level of cleaning the fabric needs. For light cleaning, you can just use a sponge and some mild soap and water. For deeper cleaning, if the fabric can be removed from the cushion or furniture, you can wash it in a washing machine or soak it in soapy water to wash it. However, make sure to hand dry the fabric as it should never be placed in the dryer.
2. Is Sunbrella Fabric Waterproof / Water-Resistant?
While Sunbrella fabrics are water resistant and are made to be breathable to repel water, they are not waterproof. Do not fully submerge the fabric in water, and if it is supposed to rain for a few days, move your furniture to a place that will shield it from the rain.
3. Is Sunbrella Fabric Worth It?
Absolutely! Sunbrella fabrics are durable and long-lasting, allowing you to have vivid and beautiful colors and designs on your outdoor furniture that can safely survive the elements of the great outdoors.
4. Is Sunbrella Fabric Soft?
Sunbrella fabrics are made with 100% solution-dyed acrylic, giving you a fabric that can survive outside but is still soft and comfortable to the touch. You want to be able to lounge in luxury outdoors, and that is why Sunbrella manufactures soft fabrics for outdoor use.
5. Is Sunbrella Fabric Polyester?
Sunbrella is not made of polyester, but rather of a solution-dyed acrylic, giving you a comfortable fabric that is fade resistant, water resistant, and mildew resistant.
6. Is Sunbrella Fabric Fade Resistant?
It is! Sunbrella designs its fabrics to be outside, meaning that they can take the unrelenting heat that comes from the sun without fading and losing its color.
7. Is Sunbrella Worth the Money?
Sunbrella is a premium product, made with cutting-edge technology to give you the best outdoor fabric possible. For some, the price point may be a little high, but if you have ever owned a Sunbrella fabric, you know that the value of the product far exceeds the price tag.
8. Is Sunbrella Stain Resistant?
As stated above, Sunbrella fabric is manufactured to wick away moisture. This design has two different functionalities, as it makes the fabric water repellent for rain or other moisture and can also make the fabric resistant to stains.
9. Is Sunbrella Fabric Durable?
Sunbrella fabric is as durable as it gets. We design our outdoor patio furniture fabrics to be as durable as possible, allowing you to live a fun and active life with fabrics that are built to last.
10. Are There Other High-Quality Outdoor Fabrics?
Sunbrella is not the only provider of high-quality outdoor patio furniture and fabrics. Outdura and Tempotest are also trusted partners that produce incredible outdoor fabrics in a variety of patterns and designs. These high-performance fabrics are also ideal for outdoor furniture, providing durable and long-lasting designs.
